RIVERS CASINO PREPARES FOR A FIGHT

Light-Heavy Champions Weigh-In at Wheelhouse on January 21

PITTSBURGH—January 19, 2010—Rivers Casino and promoter Roy Jones Jr. will deliver a one-two punch as they present the “Three Rivers Warbash,” a light-heavy boxing match, featuring six consecutive fights in Pittsburgh Friday night.

The marquee matches include the National American Boxing Organization (NABO) Light-Heavy Championship contest featuring Pittsburgh’s own Rayco “War” Saunders vs. Patrick “La Sasa” Perez. Fellow Pittsburgher Jessie “The Future” Lubash defends his 14-0 record, with eight knockouts, against "Magnificent" Martinus Clay.

Event promoter, Roy Jones Jr., is a luminary on the national boxing stage. Jones himself is a World Champion boxer. He will challenge fellow World Champion Bernard Hopkins in March 2010 in a match televised on HBO.

Thursday Weigh-In at Wheelhouse

The gloves come off for the first time this Thursday, January 21 at Wheelhouse, the new high-tech sports bar at Rivers Casino. From 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., all 12 athletes will publicly weigh-in for the Friday evening bout. During the weigh-in, all patrons of Rivers Casino are invited to attend and enjoy the food and drink specials at Wheelhouse.

WDVE will broadcast live from Wheelhouse throughout the weigh-in party. Roy Jones Jr. will be on-site to sign autographs. As always, parking at Rivers Casino is free.

Friday Fight Ticket-Holders Get Free Play

The throw-down begins Friday, January 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the main ballroom on the second floor of the Pittsburgh Hilton. Ticket-holders are again invited to a pre-fight party with complimentary hors d’oeuvres and drink specials at Wheelhouse from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Shuttles will be available from Rivers Casino to and from the Hilton for the fight.
