The Commonwealth received $16.5 million today, as scheduled PITTSBURGH—June 1, 2010—Rivers Casino demonstrated its commitment to bringing table games to Pittsburgh by submitting the $16.5 million license fee to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) today.The payment for the table games license fee follows recent PGCB approval on May 25 of Rivers Casino's petition to operate 86 table games. The casino received approval to operate a mix of blackjack, craps, roulette, three-card poker, Texas Hold'em Bonus, Pai Gow poker, mini baccarat, Big Six and 24 poker tables in a dedicated poker room. Rivers Casino anticipates launching table games in July, with the exact date to be determined by the PGCB. Table games at Rivers Casino will create 458 new jobs. Dealer school is already well underway at Rivers Casino to train candidates for the upcoming table games dealer positions. As a result of the reconfiguration needed to prepare the gaming floor for tables, Rivers Casino will employ another 80 construction workers through local contractors. Construction has already begun. "Launching table games at Rivers Casino means 458 more jobs and an estimated $7 million in added tax revenue for our community-a winning combination," said Todd Moyer, general manager of Rivers Casino. "This is an exciting time for the casino and the city, and we can't wait to debut table games to our guests." ###
